Hello again, my dears. After the convention high faded, I wanted something new to create instead of buy. I signed up for a local Lolita sewing workshop. Our teacher, a kind Classic Lolita named Marianne, taught us to make detachable sleeves and simple wrist cuffs. My fingers were clumsy at first, but by the end I’d sewn pale pink chiffon sleeves trimmed with Venice lace for my cupcake dress.

That same month, my comm started midnight tea parties—late-night gatherings in someone’s living room with fairy lights, desserts, and deep conversations about life in and out of Lolita. We talked dreams, heartbreaks, and favorite prints until dawn. Sewing and those quiet nights reminded me that Lolita is handmade in more ways than one. If you feel stuck, pick up a needle or find your late-night tea crew. The bonds you stitch last longest.
